AssisTech Sp. z o.o. is a company focused on the development and commercialisation of innovative solutions in the field of IT, multimedia and biomedical engineering. The company`s mission is to create technologically advanced solutions that support people in everyday life and are based on the experience and knowledge of experts from various areas of science, in particular, neurological rehabilitation, special needs education (oligophrenopedagogy) and IT.

Its flagship product is the C-Eye system for the objective evaluation of patients with a neurological and developmental disorder. The system is based on eye tracking technology which means that diagnosis, rehabilitation as well as a patient`s contact with the environment are possible through the sense of sight which very often remains the last communication channel. The C-Eye system is a certified medical device.
AssisTech Sp. z o.o. develops its products based on the results of research studies. C-Eye is an example of an implemented scientific system prototype and marks the culmination of seven years of studies carried out at Gdańsk University of Technology.
The C-Eye System is a fully integrated system supporting the evaluation of the state of consciousness of patients suffering from any central nervous system disorder, enabling neurorehabilitation for people with neurological dysfunctions and impaired development. The C-Eye System also supports alternative communication thanks to eye tracking technology.

The evaluation and neurorehabilitation of a patient suffering from neurological disorders and impaired development consists in performing special tasks based on multimedia contents. The subject establishes interaction with contents displayed on the screen using their sight, i.e.: graphics, photographs and captions. This way, specific centres of the central nervous system are both evaluated and stimulated, especially centres responsible for sight, hearing, speaking and cognitive functions.
Besides having a rich multimedia content, the C-Eye System also contains an extensive database, gathering the results of all tests and visualizing the patients progress. In March 2013, the CyberEye System was chosen to be the „Polish Invention of 2013` by viewers of the Polish Public Television.
The C-Eye System is a medical device that meets the European medical directive 93/42/EEC and harmonised standards: EN 60601-1-2:2007+AC:2010 and EN 60601-1:2011+A11:2011.

Recipients of the C-Eye System:
- patients suffering from any form of brain damage (craniocerebral trauma, stroke, cerebral hypoxia and other), especially persons who emerged from a coma and did not recover to full consciousness, persons with minimum consciousness (also diagnosed as vegetative state)
- patients suffering from various neurological diseases that result in speech disorders, especially: persons suffering from quadriplegia; fully conscious, immobilized persons with speech disorders, such as: patients with aphasia, dysarthria, patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS); seniors with communication difficulties
- children with impaired development

Recently the AssisTech company has published new computer programme called eyefeel. Eyefeel is dedicated for children and adults with communication issues. The programme offers sight training, developmental therapy, communication and entertainment. Eyefeel has been developed and approved by therapists with experience in working with people with developmental disorders. Eyefeel is a universal tool for therapists, caregivers and family members of people with communication issues. The programme contains ready exercises, as well as offering the possibility of creating original therapeutic content.
