London Neurosurgery Partnership
I have been working as a consultant neurosurgeon at King’s College Hospital for 19 years specialising in skull base and pituitary surgery. I work with neurosurgical colleagues in a collaborative group, the London Neurosurgery Partnership. I have been President of the British Skull Base Society, am on the committee of the European Skull Base Society and regularly travel abroad to lecture and teach.
I have done voluntary work in Sri Lanka for 20 years.
Endoscopic Endonasal Approaches to the Skull Base- further advances
Safe access to the skull base is achievable with endoscopic endonasal approaches, while allowing direct access to certain pathologies in a way that is not possible with more traditional open techniques.
These are complex operations requiring unique neurosurgical skills and an understanding of the anatomy from a novel direction. Surgical techniques, anatomy, image guidance, neuro-monitoring and educational tools will be discussed.
