Dr.Raghu Lakshminarayan has been a consultant vascular interventional radiologist at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for 16 years, having moved to this post from a consultant position at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, Australia.

He has been the Head of Training for the East Yorkshire Training Scheme, Deputy Training Programme Director IR for Yorkshire and has served as an expert adviser to NICE and the British Standards Institute. He has a strong commitment to education and training and has served as a member of Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Society of Europe’s online education committee. He has also been a member of the national thrombectomy implementation group and member of the credential group for stroke mechanical thrombectomy of the Royal College of Radiologists.

He has been a member of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) Scientific Programme Committee for 5 years and organised and delivered the annual scientific conference as committee chair in 2018. He is the present secretary of BSIR.
