AI-enhanced X-Ray image analysis in the context of acute healthcare - the GE Critical Care Suite Pneumothorax Reader study

15 Nov 2022
Medical Imaging Keynote Theatre
  • Acute healthcare is a high-intensity user of radiology resources and a key test ground for the development and evaluation of new imaging technologies, especially AI-enhanced imaging
  • Important to engage clinical stakeholders and consider real-world factors when designing studies to test these technologies
  • The GE Critical Care Suite entails state-of-the-art AI image detection software which is already licensed for clinical use, and is able to detect multiple pathological and clinical findings on plain chest X-Ray
  • A large-scale reader study has been completed which aims to evaluate its effect on the reporting performance of multiple clinicians of varying grades and specialties from across the acute healthcare sector
