Professor Jamshid Dehmeshki
I enjoy more than twenty years academic and commercial experience in medical image analysis particularly in developing computer aided diagnosis systems to identify, quantify and characterise lesions in medical imaging, particularly for cancer (eg. colon, lung and breast cancer) and vascular imaging (coronary artery disease, pulmonary embolism and brain, thoracic and abdominal aneurysm). During thirteen years working at Kingston University and University College London, I authored over 170 papers, attended more than two hundred international conferences as a speaker and supervised more than twenty postgraduate students. I lead health theme within the DIRC (Digital Information Research Centre).
Prior to joining Kingston University as a professor, over the course of 5 years working at Medicsight as CTO, I built a team of 30-40 scientists with a budget of £2M per year and led the delivery of five major medical software products achieving FDA approval and CE marking with results in several patents.
Application of Artificial intelligence and Computer Aided Diagnosis in Medicine
This presentation will cover how AI and machine learning is starting to change medicine. It will draw on the work has been done in developing computer aided diagnosis systems to identify, quantify and characterise lesions in medical imaging, particularly for use in cancer research (eg. Colon, lung and breast cancer).
