City, Sandwell and Walsall Breast Screening Service
Syeda Khan is the Breast Screening Programme Manager for City, Sandwell and Walsall Breast Screening Service. Her role not only includes the strategic management of the staff and service but also the process mapping, project managing, training and implementation of systems and workflows to ensure an optimum pathway and service.
During her time at the service she has overseen many projects which include the merger of two breast screening services, the implementation of digital mammography, change in staff working patterns and the mapping and implementation of a new image and data transfer plan and contingency plans.
Syeda’s knowledge and experience gained through mammography, advanced practice in image interpretation , mammography PACS lead, training and development, management, being a member of the Trust IRMER committee and administration lead have equipped her with the skills to further develop the service.
PROSPECTS is a multicentre UK trial comparing the cost effectiveness of 3D mammography with standard 2D mammography and will help to determine whether this technology should be introduced into routine screening.
